The Unicode Standard

The Unicode Standard is a character coding system designed to support the worldwide interchange, processing, and display of the written texts of the diverse languages and technical disciplines of the modern world. In addition, it supports classical and historical texts of many written languages. 

Unicode CLDR (Common Locale Data Repository)

The Unicode Common Locale Data Repository (http://cldr.unicode.org/) provides the world’s most extensive standard repository of locale data, used by companies for their software internationalization and localization. 

Code Libraries

Mature, widely used set of C/C++ and Java libraries providing Unicode and Globalization support for software applications. ICU is widely portable and gives applications the same results on all platforms and between C/C++ and Java software.
